FileCentral Desktop
FileCentral Desktop is an application that you can download and install on your computer in order to get more functionality out of the FileCentral service.
Features include:
- Possibility to send files larger than 2 GB
- Automatic retries on transmission errors
- Possibility to pause and resume uploads
- File partitioning, files are split into smaller parts during upload which can prevent uploads being rejected by certain firewalls
- Bi-lingual, english and swedish
In all FileCentral Desktop offers additional features towards a more powerful and reliable FileCentral experience, especially for frequent users.
Files larger than 2 GB
Due to technical limitations it is not possible to use a web browser to upload files larger than 2 GB. FileCentral Desktop works around this by splitting the file into smaller parts and uploads these parts to the server which puts them together again into the original, large, file. This process is automatic and completely transparent to the user.
However, in order to be able to use FileCentral Desktop to upload files larger than 2 GB a Premium Inbox account is needed.
